Thanks for your interest in volunteering for Furrydelphia! We have various openings available that range from a few hours here and there to dedicated staffing roles to year-round volunteer jobs behind the scenes!

Looking for the Right Role

We understand that not everyone wants to dedicate their entire con time to staffing, but still want to help out where they can! To that end, we have a few labels to help you find the right role and understand your time commitment expectations. Each role will have their specific time commitment details in the posting itself, but in general these labels will denote the base commitment and what you'll recieve as a benefit of that commitment!

Volunteer

Time Commitment: 1-12 Hours, during the convention. Some pre-con meetings may be required.

A volunteer will only need to assist the con during the convention, filling specific holes in the staffing schedule or checking badges for a set period of time. This is considered an entry level role in most departments and does not require any special skills or huge time commitments.

Benefits: 10% Voucher for Con Store Merchandise after 8 hours of logged work. 50% compensation on base badge for next year after 8 hours. 100% compensation on next year's badge for 12+ hours and consideration of Staff promotion. Timesheet tracking will be required for this, and can be done in the app. Perennial Volunteers over 12 hours will get early access to room block in the next year if they continue on as a volunteer. Timesheet tracking will be required for this position!

Staff

Time Commitment: 12-24 Hours, during and/or before/after the convention. Pre-con meetings and Department Crash Meetings are required.

A Staff Member is required to put in at least 12 hours of tracked/untracked work supporting convention activities. Some departments may choose to track hours worked to ensure scheduling is kept consistent. Staff Members are considered to be the lifeblood of the convention and as such are asked to dedicate more time to the convention beyond being a volunteer, and will be assigned a specific department and supervisor as a result. You will be required to attend certian crash and pre-con meetings before the convention in order to get synchronized with your department and convention protocols.

Benefits: Blanket Discount on Con Store Merchandise, Early access to Room Block, Free Meals (to be determined closer to convention), 100% Comped Badge this year for Service

Lead

Time Commitment: 24+ Hours, during and before/after the convention. Pre-con meetings and planning meetings year-round will be required.

Lead Roles work directly under Department Heads and Board Members to ensure their section of the department runs smoothly. This can also include some supervisory roles. You will be asked to put in time and effort outside of the convention, attend planning and post-op meetings, and take on a junior leadership role in your department.

Benefits: Blanket Discount on Con Store Merchandise, Early access to Room Block, Free Meals (to be determined closer to convention), 100% Comped Badge this year for Service, Additional Access and Roll-in to Convention Event Management

Year-Round

Time Commitment: 12-24+ Hours, before/after the convention, some hours at-convention as needed. Pre-con meetings and planning meetings year-round will be required.

Year-Round Roles can range from Department Directorships to Corporate Roles (HR, Software, Etc.) that may require the bulk of their hours to be done before or after the convention occurs. These roles will not be required to work a majority of their hours during the convention, and will instead have their time tracked seperately depending on the department or corporate need.

Benefits: Blanket Discount on Con Store Merchandise, Early access to Room Block, Free Meals (to be determined closer to convention), 100% Comped Badge this year for Service
